Installing Mirrored French Closet Doors

Original Mirrored French Closet Doors

Mirrored French closet doors are an easy improvement in all homes, and it takes some time. Closet doors are usually used as wardrobe doors, and they add a touch of elegance to any room. If you have sliding wardrobe doors common in many older houses, removing them and installing doors is an upgrade many will appreciate, especially if you are planning to sell the house.

Measure the length and width of the wardrobe opening. When buying mirrored French closet doors, be sure to order a style that is one inch smaller than the actual width of your wardrobe and one to two inches shorter than the actual height wardrobe opening. Because each kit varies depending on the style of the doors, your kit will have a chart so you know exactly where to place each piece of hardware. Drill and install metal tracks from the kit to the top of the wardrobe opening with the supplied screws.

Screw the brackets into the floor directly under the roof. Use a solder string to help you adjust the upper web with the lower brackets. A solder is a metal or brass light bulb connected to a string which, when hanging up a vertical position, hangs directly down. It is a useful tool to use instead of using a level. Lift mirrored French closet doors and place the pin on the upper part of the door in the groove. Check that the bottom pin of the part of the door closest to the side wall is installed in the floor bracket. Then do the same with the other two folding doors. Install the door handles on folding doors.
